How to change your battery in VW Car Key?

1. Identify your VW key type :

• A blue VW logo = Older

• A black & silver logo = Newer

2. Old Style : a. Locate the groove cut out inside the area where the key blade locates. You will need a small flat-blade screwdriver b. Insert the screwdriver blade into the cut out and twist carefully. c. Next, pull the two sections apart, putting the key blade aside. d. Now, use your thumbs or fingers and forced into the case to pull it apart until the top comes off. e. Place the circuit board to one side. You will need your flat blade screwdriver again. f. Prise out the button battery carefully. g. Replace with a CR2032 3V battery. h. Now, fit the new battery into the case. Positive (+) side down first. i. Close up the case and fit the other blade case and test the car key.
